A 24V ride-on car is where things get serious. Double the voltage means enough torque to handle tall grass, dirt tracks and gentle slopes — exactly the terrain where a 12V stalls and your kid ends up frustrated.

We recommend this range from age 5–6, or younger if the space where they'll be riding isn't a flat, smooth surface. It's also where most of the 2-seater models are: if you have two kids close in age, one 24V kids electric car often makes more sense than buying two smaller ones they'll both outgrow at the same time.

Three things that really set models apart: maximum weight capacity (some go up to 60 kg, suitable up to around age 10), EVA tyres that absorb bumps without waking the whole house, and real suspension on the top-end models.
